It is important to follow all instructions given prior to the laser skin rejuvenation treatment to ensure the best possible results for your procedure. Some of these instructions may include refraining from drinking alcohol or smoking for up to two weeks prior to receiving your laser skin rejuvenation treatment.
When you are ready to undergo the procedure, your skin will be cleansed and prepped for the laser. You will also receive protective eyewear that you should wear throughout your treatment.
The laser will then heat the skin and penetrate the surface layers without damaging it. Your laser technician will gently and gradually guide the laser device over your areas of concern. You may feel “pricking” sensations as the laser penetrates the skin to stimulate the body’s healing process. When the procedure is complete, the skin may appear raw, tender, or red. You will be given aloe vera or an ice pack to help soothe the skin.

This is normal and expected and can be managed with an ice pack or over-the-counter pain medication. We will send you a monthly statement. Most insurance companies respond within four to six weeks. Please call our office if your statement does not accurately reflect your insurance payment within the specified time frame. You are responsible for any remaining balance after your insurance has been paid. Your prompt remittance is appreciated. We can arrange a monthly payment plan, but that must be implemented before the actual procedure.
Scott D. Urban, MD, DMD, FAACS, specializes in Facial Cosmetic Surgery and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery.
